On the East Bank of the University of Minnesota campus, below the Washington Avenue bridge lies the Mississippi River. This natural treasure is part of the Mississippi National River & Recreation Area, Minnesota National Park. Its significant presence on campus provides the ideal environment for exploration and education. River Walk tours depart from the steps in front of Northrup each Tuesday at Noon and returning by 12:50 pm. Everyone is invited to attend and learn about history to conservation while discovering new territory at each event. Discussions and questions are encouraged. Students, staff, faculty, and friends all welcome!
